2026 Specialty

  • Show Chair (Robin)

    • The Premium list is up on Onofrio. Robin is picking up Sid Marx from the airport and is sharing a hotel room with Kari Schlect. Linda Kornhi will be picking up the Obedience Judge. Obedience will start at 9:00 AM, Sweeps will begin at 10:00 AM and Juniors will follow Sweeps. The regular classes will start at 1:00 PM. Bagpiper will come in at 8:30 AM, and we will play the American and Canadian National Anthems before Obedience. Robin asked if anybody has a Canadian flag, the answer is no. Checklists will be provided to the Committee Chairs. Robin will also arrange with the Photographer to acquire copies of the win photos to submit to the GR News Magazine.

  • Obedience Chair (Karen/Robin)

    • The Obedience stewards have been confirmed. If there is a low entry one of the stewards will back out.

  • Sweeps (Debbie)

    • Amy Rosling is no longer able to judge Sweeps, we have replaced her with Christy Marley. No hotel is needed. This has been discussed with Chinitimini KC, and the Premium list has been updated.

    • Debbie will bring the stuffies for the prizes, but will be leaving from the specialty before Best of Breed.

    • We are renting coffee pots from Linn County KC, two carafes for $20. We will also be provided coffee and fixings.

    • Tammy and Jeanie will be meeting in the coming weeks to discuss matters regarding the caterer for the specialty, they will be taking a head count of volunteers in order to provide Jackapetti’s with the number of lunches needed.

    • Christy Marley is judging Sweeps and Juniors

    • Sidney Marx is judging the regular classes

Chintimini KC Eye/Heart Clinic (April 2026)

  • Eye appointments are getting scheduled, and heart appointments are picking up.

  • Talked to Gail at Linn County KC who said we can put up flyers at the show.

  • We have a PayPal non-profit account but would like to look into switching to Square. The Credit Card processing fee is about the same as PayPal but we need to find out if there is a monthly fee and how that all works.

  • Sign-Up Genius

    • Not everybody is prepaying for their cardiac appointments. PayPal is not linked to the SignUp genius like we thought it would be so people are having to pay separately and email Christa their proof of payment with their names and their dog’s names and breed. We will need to cross-check the payments with the appointments and follow up with those who have not yet paid.

Nominating Committee (Bridgett/Kelli)

  • This year’s slate is as follows: President: Christa Thompson

Vice President: Lorene Jones

Secretary: Rachel Read

Treasurer: Jeanie Schuldt

Board: Alice Brown, Dawn Clausen, Robin Murphy.

  • Voting will take place at the March meeting.

New Business

  • June Eye Clinic

    • Due to the new fairgrounds not having a building available for us to use, meaning we would need to have a trailer or something off site, with the premium list being due in two days, it was decided that we would skip this year’s summer clinic. Tammy moved to skip this year’s eye clinic, Robin seconded, motion passed unanimously.

    • We will look into potentially having our other eye clinic at Silver Falls KC, Roseburg, or something else.

    • Christa will let Dr Maxwell know.

  • Alice is sponsoring a new perpetual award in honor of Lindor, who recently passed at 15. The criteria is that qualifying dogs must have turned 15 years of age (or higher) within the award year. The award will be given to the oldest dog that applied. Debbie moved to accept our new perpetual award, Robin seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

Meeting Adjourned at 8:42 PM. (Motion: Tammy; Second: Robin. Motion passed unanimously)
