The Pacific Rim Golden Retriever Club of Oregon is a small non-profit member club of the Golden Retriever Club Of America. Founded in 1985 by conformation, performance, and pet enthusiasts, the club has grown over the years to include members that enjoy participation in a multitude of competitive events.
We are a very social group that welcomes new members and encourages activities to promote education and knowledge wherever possible
To encourage the selective breeding of Golden Retrievers that possess the soundness, temperament, natural abilities and personality, as described in the breed standard, and to do all possible to bring their natural abilities and qualities to perfection;
To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club and the Golden Retriever Club of America as the only standard of excellence by which the Golden Retriever shall be judged;
To protect and advance the interest of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, field trials, tracking tests and obedience trials;
To conduct sanctioned matches and specialty shows, field trials, tracking tests and obedience trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club;
To educate members and the public in the selection, care, training and responsible breeding of Golden Retrievers.
The PRGRCO meets every third Wednesday evening at 7 pm, usually in Salem. An annual awards banquet and election/installation of officers and Board members is held in April of each year. The Club schedules educational forums with the meetings whenever possible. (Back to Top)
