November 2024 Board Meeting

November 20, 2024

Meeting was called to order at 6:31pm.

Attendees were Jim Highley, Bridgett Highley, Christa Thompson, Lorene Jones, Rachel Read, Tammy Pengelly, Robin Murphy, Debbie Berry, Jeanie Schuldt, Dawn Clausen, Doug Clausen, Susan Maloch

Old Business

• Approval of revised Breeder Referral Application

  • Debbie handed the revised application to members, discussed changes that were made, removed entries "posted to BARK" and replaced it with the club's Facebook. Included terminology discussing how breeders on the referral list represent the PRGRCO and GRCA at all times, and as such it's their responsibility to make sure they are treating/responding to people in a professional manner. NEW PROCEDURE: Breeders pay the referral fee separately than membership dues. Breeder referral applications and payment are sent to Debbie, who will then record the payment and get them to Jeanie. Clarified that education as is discussed in the application means any all breed seminars, online seminars, etc. Discussed educational seminars at events like Rose City. Are breeders required to attend 3 or 4 meetings? Will be discussed in General.

New Business

• Kathy and Judy sent a letter of resignation from the club. We need to discuss a replacement for Vice President, Puppy Referral, Obedience Chair, Christmas Party. Will be discussed during general in order as most in attendance are already officers/board members and we will have more attendees at the General Meeting. Rachel volunteered for Puppy referral. Responsibilities for the role were discussed, e.g., how to handle calls, directing callers to the breeder referral page, not referring one breeder over another, etc.

• PRGRCO endorsement on Golden Bond Rescue, we no longer endorse them. Robin will send an email, revisit it at the next meeting.

• Dawn asked about the Clackamas County Kennel Club Show, will be discussed in General.

Action Items for November Meeting

Discuss replacements for Vice President, Puppy Referral, Obedience Chair, Christmas Party. Discuss during General Meeting.
