President's Report

  • Acknowledged Rachel for her work on the website, asked about the password for the member page. Rachel said she would make another post with the password on the Facebook group.

Secretary's Report

  • October minutes read by Rachel, minutes accepted as amended. [Motion: Christa; Second: Jim]

  • Robin had received an email last spring by somebody by the name of Emily W, reaching out about joining the club. She reached out again a couple days ago and expressed interest in performance sports and CCA, and asked for a grooming lesson. Robin invited her out for a lesson at no charge, let her know about the meeting on November 20 which is pretty short notice, Robin let her know about the Christmas party but it would probably be best for Emily's first meeting to be January 2025. Robin has not yet heard back from Emily.

Treasurer's Report

  • General Account: $15,683.44 - $0.08 interest earned, there was a $20.28 charge from InMotion Hosting to the account that Jeanie had never seen before, after reaching out to InMotion Hosting and it was discovered that the charge was for the PRGRCO website and it had previously been paid for 5 years, which is why it had never been seen until now. The charges will now be made annually.

  • Specialty Account: $10,629.43 - No activity.

Motion: Lorene; Second: Tammy

Vice-President's Report (Membership)

  • Kathy Thurman and Judy Sherman resigned from their respective roles. The letter was read again since Alice and Kelli were not in attendance at the board meeting. We need to appoint a new Vice President and Puppy Referral Representative. Responsibility of the VP would be to keep and maintain the membership list, collect applications, and make sure Membership dues got to Jeanie. This will be a temporary assignment until April. Christa and Alice volunteered to step into the Vice President position, we will hold a ballot. In the event Christa gets appointed as VP, we may need a second ballot to appoint her replacement in the position of Board Member.

  • Christa was appointed as Vice President. Volunteers for the Board Member position are: Lorene Jones, Alice Brown, Kelli McCulloch. Ballot held, Lorene Jones has been appointed as a Board Member.

  • Rachel will update the Membership application to reflect Christa's name and address, and will update the website to reflect Rachel's contact information for puppy referral.

A Recess was called at 7:48PM.

Meeting was resumed at 7:53PM

Old Business

  • Committee Reports

    • Breeder Education (Debbie)

      • Only thing done so far was the breeder referral application. Debbie has not yet heard back from Sarah, will try calling and scheduling for a Breeder Education Meeting, not necessarily on a regular meeting night.

  • Puppy Referral

    • Rachel now in charge of Puppy Referrals, we again discussed the responsibilities of this position, how to handle calls, direct them to the breeder referral list, we don't recommend one person over another, needs to be neutral. No correspondence.

  • Member/Public Education (Dawn/Christa)

    • Meet the breeds @ Rose City: January 18th, 2025. Dawn received notice that the Meet the Breeds will be held in a different location than it was last year. This year it will be in the carpeted front corridor. Has yet to receive an email from the powers that be, Lorene usually gets the same email for Boston Terriers, will forward it to Dawn once it is received. Dawn said she let them know that we still prefer a double space on the end. She will likely be able to attend the Meet the Breeds event but is unsure how much heavy lifting she will be able to do due to her upcoming hysterectomy.

  • Website (Rachel)

    • Fixed the popup, website visitors peaked on October 23rd at 13 visits, most visits were navigating to the website directly (81 visits, up by 13%), Google search (75 visits, down by 37%), and the GRCA website (70 visits, up by 11%).

    • Most popular page is the home page (193 visits, up by 10%), puppy referral (155 visits, down by 20%), about (30 visits, up by 36%).

  • Private Facebook Group (Kelli & Christa)

    • No updates.

  • Public Facebook Page (Lorene)

    • 147 views, most popular posts were on not letting you kids ride your dog, and Benadryl/xylitol.

  • Hospitality/Awards (Christa)

    • Awards Applications: Working on scoring of trophies. There needs to be clarification on qualifications/select for awards, tracking points. PRGRCO will acknowledge big wins, new titles, accomplishments. One can apply for a plaque of acknowledgement for a first big accomplishment, then with each subsequent win can apply for a tab to attach to said award. Once the award is filled up with tabs the club will upgrade the plaque so one can add more. Includes UKC, IABCA titles as well. Deadline for awards application is January 1st, 2025. Christa asked where we get the awards from, Robin said Award Specialties in Hillsboro.

  • April 2024 Specialty [April 3, 2025] (Lorene)

    • Kerry Schlecht is sweeps and breed chair, Robin is now Obedience chair.

    • Rachel asked who is in charge of submitting Specialty wins to the GRCA for the magazine, it is up to the Show Chair.

  • Bylaws Revision

    • Reducing board members from 5 to 3. Robin will contact AKC about the change in bylaws. Motioned by Christa; Seconded by Lorene.

  • New Business

    • Clackamas County Kennel Club Show no longer in Canby, is now in McMinnville. Jeanie contacted them about the eye clinic, it is unknown whether we will have a spot. Christa suggested the possibility of a tent or a trailer to use for the clinic. Jeanie will keep working on it.

    • We need a new location for the Christmas Party. Contenders were an AirBNB in Keizer ($164/night plus $184 refundable cleaning fee), Tammy's house in Albany, Denny's in Salem, Robin's brother's house. Robin called her brother and they gave us the go ahead to have the party at their house on DECEMBER 15th at 3PM in Wilsonville.

    • It is preferred that alcohol consumption be discreet, if at all. There is plenty of parking. Robin will post all the details on the Facebook group.

    • Motion for the $100 (that was approved for Kathy and Judy for the Christmas ham, etc) to go Robin, plus an additional $100 to assemble a nice Thank-You gift basket to Robin's brother and sister-in-law. Moved by Lorene, Second by Christa.
